SALARY: Anticipated starting salary is $57,013.00 - $62,000.00. Actual salary will be commensurate with education and experience in accordance with the MCCC/MTA collective bargaining agreement. GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES:
In accordance with MCCC collective bargaining agreement, the successful candidate will serve in the role of time faculty member within the Early Childhood Education Department. The successful candidate must demonstrate passion for preparing students to work effectively as early childhood educators in diverse, multilingual classrooms and demonstrated commitment to advancing equity and access in education. This successful candidate will play a key role in developing and delivering curriculum that supports students working with children from birth to age eight, especially in settings serving bilingual and multilingual families. Responsibilities include teaching ECE courses in Spanish, advising students, and collaborating with the NSCC ECE Program Coordinator and community partners to strengthen pathways for dual language educators.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Teach courses in Early Childhood Education including dual language that align with the EEC Foundational Certificate and the Associates degree in accordance with the MCCC Collective Bargaining Agreement.
- Deliver instruction in Spanish, supporting linguistically diverse students in various modalities such as face to face, online and/or hybrid modalities.
- Engage in culturally responsive, student-centered teaching practices which foster critical thinking and classroom engagement.
- Utilize new technologies and methodologies in the classroom, as appropriate, to facilitate and support a student-centered environment. Experience in the development of online, hybrid courses, credit for prior learning (CPL)/workforces designed programming or OER resources.
- Advise and mentor student pursing education and careers within the field of Early Childhood Education.
- Participate in program assessment, accreditation, and continuous improvement initiatives such as curricular development and enhancement.
- Collaborate with ECE Program Coordinator and faculty including interdisciplinary programming.
- Participate in college governance and committees as assigned.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to maintain expertise/currency in the career field and to infuse new methodologies and content into program offerings.
- Perform other duties consistent with the provisions of the collective bargaining agreement.

Job Requirements:
- Minimum of a Master's Degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a closely related field.
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish.
- Demonstrated experience working with dual language learners.
- Minimum of two years of teaching or leadership experience in early childhood settings.
- Commitment to equity, diversity, inclusion, and culturally sustaining pedagogy.
- Experience integrating technology in early childhood education and/or higher education instruction.
- Candidates will be required to pass a CORI/SORI and/or National background check as a condition of employment.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Community college teaching experience preferred.
- Experience teaching adult learners, including first-generation college students preferred.
- Knowledge of state and national ECE standards (e.g., MA EEC Core Competencies, NAEYC preferred).
