Job Summary:
Supervises all aspects of the Children's Center including planning, controlling budget, organization, direction, coordination, and evaluation as a vocational program laboratory facility. Administers the center's daily operation in compliance with Texas Department of Family and Protective Services (TDFPS) licensing requirements, CCMS standards and National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) accreditation standards. Support students with Best Practices in Child Development and Education during lab time. Provides leadership, supervision, trains and evaluates staff members. This position is a full time center director that reports to the Divisional Dean.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Maintains the center organization and performance based on the NAEYCs accreditation standards and the TDFPS minimum standards
Meets with parents, visiting groups and individuals from the community
Conducts staff meetings regarding curriculum and child related issues, and coordinates Center programs with instructional staff to meet their program goals
Reviews and maintains health, fire, and licensing standards
Oversees budget and record keeping activities as well as correspondence of the Center
Recruits, hires, trains, and evaluates Childrens Center staff and recommend personnel actions for programs and services
Act as a resource for students in child development and education course work during lab time
Models effective leadership, teaching, and administrative roles
Represents TCC in professional organizations, and performs other duties as assigned
Attends the workplace regularly, reports to work punctually and follows a work schedule to keep up with the demands of the worksite
Completes all required training and professional development sessions sponsored through Tarrant County College (TCC)
Supports the values of the College: diversity, teaching excellence, student success, innovation and creativity and service to the College
Supports the mission, values and 3 goals and 8 principles of the College

Required Education, Experience, Certifications, Licensures:
Bachelors degree in Child Development, Early Childhood Education, or related field with a minimum of 12 college credit hours in Child Development or early Childhood and at least 6 college credit hours in Business Management
Two (2) years of experience as an administrator in an accredited and licensed child care facility
First Aid and CPR certification for children
One (1) year of experience as a classroom teacher in an early childhood setting

Desired Education, Experience, Certifications, Licensures:
Masters Degree in Child Development, Early Childhood Education, or related field, or completion of graduate level coursework with a minimum of 15 hours coursework in administration
Current teacher certification
Experience implementing and upholding the National Association for the Education of Young Childrens accreditation standards and practices

Knowledge, Skills and Ability:
Ability to show competency, good judgment, and self-control in working with children, parents, and staff and college students
Ability to maintain positive attitude and specialized knowledge of the development of children
Complete a yearly minimum of 36 clock hours in child development, education and management training
