The Coordinator for Early Childhood Workforce Projects (Special Programs Coordinator) reports to the Director of Early Childhood Workforce Projects and focuses on supporting students with enrollment in programs and coursework to support credentialing in Early Childhood Education.



  • Assist with applicable grant administration including record keeping and reporting
  • Coordinate events to support program enrollment including community-based events
  • Manage records in accordance with college policies and applicable grant requirements
  • Handle confidential information with tact, discretion with FERPA information
  • Maintain comprehensive and accurate case notes for students
  • Build collaborative relationships with resource centers on campus to provide smooth connections ("Warm Handoffs") to appropriate success services, such as: Admissions, Assessment, Student Central, LifeMap, Student Activities, Single Stop/The DISH, departmental advisors, tutoring, supplemental instruction, or accommodations for disabilities; financial literacy skills development; and emergency assistance.
  • Assist with the advisement and registration of new and continuing students regarding their academic plan, course selection/sequencing, career exploration
  • Create and deliver culturally responsive student services and programming aimed at improving student access, engagement, retention, and graduation.
  • Participate in college meetings, community engagement, and outreach activities as needed.
  • Collaborate with faculty to better support student success in the program
  • Provide support for holistic student support and success


Job Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Cultural and Community Studies, Education, Counseling, Psychology, Sociology or a closely related field, with three (3) years of experience and/or training involving college admissions, academic advisement, career development, or program/project development and/or management; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Experience working with diverse students in a fast-paced student services/client services or equivalent setting.
  • Demonstrates ability to collaborate effectively with a range of different academic and non-academic units, and community-based organizations.
  • Excellent intercultural, interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in student information systems as well as MS Word and Excel.
  • Ability to work with diverse faculty/staff/student population.
  • Demonstrates and possesses a strong understanding of cultural competency and how to communicate effectively with different audiences.


Preferred Qualifications:



  • Bilingual in Spanish, Portuguese or Haitian Creole.
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends.
  • Experience managing and supervising staff/students.
  • Experience working with underrepresented groups.
  • Experience working at a community college, nonprofit and/or community-based organization.


Additional Information:

Salary Range: $52,754 - $60,000 (Actual Salary Will Be Commensurate With Education and Experience in Accordance with MCCC/MTA Collective Bargaining Agreement). Full state Benefits.

This position is funded by the City of Boston Growing the Early Childhood Workforce Grant through December 31, 2025.
