Job Description:


APPOINTMENT: One year Visiting Dual Appointment: Interim Director, Center for Best Practices in Early Childhood Education (35%) and ECH Instructor (65%), starting July 2021; 12 month contract

RESPONSIBILITIES The successful candidate will be responsible for the administration of daily operations of the Center for Best Practices in Early Childhood Education (35%) and teaching early childhood courses in the School of Education (65%). In overseeing the daily operations of the Center, the successful candidate will oversee its various grant-related projects; be responsible for all personnel matters; serve as either primary or secondary fiscal agent and oversee budget matters; be responsible for all required report writing; oversee grant-related product development, publication, and distribution. As a faculty member, the successful candidate will teach undergraduate and graduate early childhood education methods classes each semester and the summer as well as assist with pre-student teaching field experiences. The applicant must communicate clearly, utilize technology in instruction, and provide service to the School. Adherence to program and state recognition criteria will be expected.

Requirements:


REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

1. A terminal degree (EdD/PhD) in Early Childhood Education (or equivalent area) by time of appointment.

2. A minimum of 3 years experience in PreK educational contexts

3. Evidence of experience with writing and administering grants

4. Knowledge of research design and data analysis

5. Experience in a leadership capacity, directing and overseeing personnel and strategic planning

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Experience as a Preschool Director

2. Experience in Pre-K-12 school administration

For a degree to be considered, it must be conferred from a regionally accredited degree-granting institution of higher education (or equivalent from an international accrediting body). Unless otherwise stated, the degree must be "in hand" at the time of application.
